What is it about this story that resonates across every culture? A small child wanders off into the woods to stumble upon an empty house. Unbeknownst to the child, this is a house owned by a family of bears! The child proceeds to eat the food on the dinner table and sleep in the beds. Unsurprisingly, the bears return home to find their dinners half eaten (except for baby bears, the child ate the entire bowl!) and their beds slept in. In a state of anger, shock and disbelief, father bear finds the child in the baby’s bed and screams for the small child to leave immediately! How the bears were hurt by the selfish actions of this child. How insensitive and self-serving her indulgence was. The bears had every right to eat her! Don’t get eaten by bears, be polite and don’t wander into the woods alone! 🍪
